With this, the total number of general insurance companies goes up to 28.

Cigna TTK Health Insurance Company has received a license from IRDA to start its health insurance operationsin India. It is the fourth standalone health insurer after Max Bupa, Apollo Munich and Star Health.

Cigna TTK is a joint venture of US health service Cigna Corporation and TTK group. The company is headquartered at Mumbai. Sandip Patel is the MD and CEO of the company.

Presently, TTK group has a strong presence in many segments like consumer durables, pharmaceuticals, bio-medical devices etc.

With this, the total number of general insurers registered has gone upto 28.
