MUMBAI: Sundaram Mutual Fund has launched a close ended Sundaram Capital Protection Oriented Fund Series 2. The tenure of the scheme will be for five years from the date of allotment. The new fund offer is open and close on February 28, 2011.
The investment objective of the scheme seeks income and minimise risk of capital loss by investing in a portfolio of fixed income securities. The scheme may invest a part of the assets in equity to seek capital appreciation. The scheme would allocate 70 to 100 per cent of assets in fixed income securities including money market instruments with low to medium risk profile. It would further allocate upto 30 per cent of assets in equity and equity related securities with high risk profile. Exposure to derivatives will be limited to 50 per cent of the net asset.
The minimum application amount will be Rs 5,000 and the scheme will not charge any entry or exit load. The scheme will be jointly managed by Dwijendra Srivastava (Debt) and S. Krishnakumar (Equity). It will be benchmarked against CRISIL MIP Blended Index.
