    Here are the index funds with highest AUM

    UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund is the largest fund among large cap index funds followed by HDFC Index Fund Nifty 50 Plan and HDFC Index S&P BSE Sensex Fund.

    Cafemutual Passives Research shows that UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund is the largest fund among large cap index funds having an AUM close to Rs.14,600 crore in December 2023. 

    HDFC Index Fund Nifty 50 Plan and HDFC Index S&P BSE Sensex Fund are the next two in the list with AUM of Rs.11,000 crore and Rs.6,000 crore, respectively.

    Among midcap index funds, Motilal Oswal Nifty Midcap 150 Index Fund, Nippon India Nifty Midcap 150 Index Fund and ICICI Prudential Nifty Midcap 150 Index Fund are the top three funds with assets of Rs.1,200 crore, Rs.1,000 crore and Rs.300 crore respectively.

    Similarly, Nippon India Nifty Smallcap 250 Index Fund, Motilal Oswal Nifty Smallcap 250 Index Fund and SBI Nifty Smallcap 250 Index Fund are top funds in smallcap category with AUM of Rs. 950 crore, Rs.600 crore and Rs. 450 crore, respectively.

    Further analysis shows that UTI Nifty200 Momentum 30 Index Fund with AUM of Rs. 3,500 crore is the largest fund in the factor-based index fund category. 

    Among sectoral/thematic funds, Motilal Oswal Nifty Bank Index Fund is the largest in sectoral/thematic category with AUM of Rs.500 crore.
