    SBI MF, Nippon India MF and UTI MF are the top passives players

    While ICICI Pru MF is the top player in index category, SBI MF lead the ETF game.

    An analysis done by Cafemutual shows that SBI MF, Nippon India MF and UTI MF are the top three players in the passives space as of AAUM data of June 2024.

    SBI MF has the highest passives AUM of Rs. 3.46 lakh crore. The fund house derives 34% of its total AUM from index funds and ETFs.

    Nippon India MF and UTI MF are the next two fund houses with passives AUM of Rs. 1.52 lakh crore and Rs. 1.33 lakh crore.

    ICICI Prudential MF and Edelweiss MF occupy the fourth and fifth spots with  passives AUM of Rs. 1.01 lakh crore and Rs. 82,000 crore, respectively.

    Other fund houses in the top 10 list with highest passives AUM include HDFC MF, Kotak MF, Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Bandhan MF and Motilal Oswal MF.

    Index funds

    Among index funds, ICICI Prudential MF has the highest AUM of Rs. 31,600 crore. HDFC MF is slightly behind ICICI Pru MF with AUM of Rs. 31,280 crore in index funds. UTI MF takes the 3rd spot with index AUM of Rs. 30,000 crore.

    SBI MF and Aditya Birla MF occupy the next two spots with index AUM of Rs 27,000 crore and Rs 20,000 crore, respectively.

    Other fund houses with index AUM of over Rs. 10,000 crore include Bandhan MF, Edelweiss MF, Kotak MF, Nippon India MF and Motilal Oswal MF.

    ETFs

     SBI MF has the highest AUM of Rs. 3.13 lakh crore in ETFs.

    Nippon India MF and UTI MF occupy second and third spots with ETF AUM of Rs. 1.26 lakh crore and Rs. 1.01 lakh crore, respectively.

    ICICI Prudential MF and Edelweiss MF held the next two spots with ETF AUM of Rs. 62,000 crore and Rs. 61,400 crore, respectively.

    Other fund houses in the top 10 include HDFC MF, Kotak MF, Motilal Oswal MF, Mirae Asset MF, and Aditya Birla MF.

    In terms of commodity ETFs (gold and silver), Nippon India MF has the highest AUM of Rs. 14,000 crore. ICICI Prudential MF and HDFC MF occupy the next two positions with commodity ETF AUM of Rs. 7,400 crore and Rs. 5,200 crore, respectively.
