AMFI annual report reveals that passive funds have witnessed net inflows of R.1.40 lakh crore in FY 2025 compared to Rs.61,000 crore in FY 2024, a growth of 100% in one year.
Also, this is the fourth consecutive year since the industry has been witnessing net inflows in passive funds every month.
Further, the total assets under passive funds went up by 22.7% from last year to Rs. 11.47 lakh crore in March 2025, shows the report.
Over the last one year, the industry has launched 150 new passive schemes— 102 index funds, 3 gold ETFs, and 45 other ETFs. These new funds collected Rs. 15,056 crore, which was 11% of the total net inflows. In comparison, FY24 had 77 new schemes that raised Rs. 4,214 crore.
Inflows into index funds went up by 278%, reaching Rs. 59,306 crore from Rs. 15,690 crore in FY24. Gold ETFs also saw a rise in inflows, going up 2.75 times to Rs. 14,582 crore from Rs. 5,248 crore, reveals the report.
