    Banking and financial services were the most favoured sectors for equity mutual funds, with both sectors seeing their share in equity fund AUM moving up for the first half of 2017. But from around July-August, funds began scaling back their bets on banking. From 23.1 per cent of equity AUM in July 2017, the share of banking dropped to 21 per cent by January 2018 (latest available data). Funds have not scaled back weights on financial services, however.
