There is a good opportunity for an investor with a long-term view of three to five years to generate value from the healthcare theme, Vrijesh Kasera, Sr. Research Analyst, Mirae Asset AMC, tells ET Now.

What kind of opportunities do you see in the healthcare space since you thought about this fund?
The opportunities are huge. Globally, there is a $7-trillion healthcare market which is roughly around 8-9% of the global GDP. The opportunity of course is huge and it is growing. Globally the healthcare spending is growing at around 4% to 5%. India being emerging economy, the growth would be substantially higher because there are lots of under penetration in the emerging economies. There are lots of new therapies that are evolving globally and new cure for diseases are being found as well. It is an ever growing sector. It is a secular sector where we feel the growth would be quite good. The opportunity is substantially high.
