BSE Midcap index has fallen by 12 per cent since the beginning of this year. However, midcap mutual fund schemes on an average fell by 8.62 per cent, lower than the benchmark. Nifty Midcap 150, another index which captures the movement of the midcap segment, fell 9.80 per cent during the same period.
