    Kothari Pioneer Mutual Fund, the first private sector mutual fund house in India, started operations in 1993. Prem Khatri joined the firm as chief of marketing a little later in 1994. ET.com Mutual Funds spoke to Khatri, now the founder and CEO of Café Mutual, to find out what was it like trying to market the first mutual fund house and its products to mostly uninformed mutual fund investors in the country in early 90s.
