Expecting higher volatility, says Mrinal Singh, CIO, ICICI Pru Midcap Fund

After a steep rally in the last three years, the returns from the midcap funds have been falling for the last six months. The annual average returns from the category was at 0.76 per cent, while the short-term returns are in the negative territory. ET.com Mutual Funds spoke to Mrinal Singh, fund manager of ICICI Prudential Midcap Fund and Deputy CIO, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, to understand what is happening in the midcap segment.
