Credit risk funds are going through a rough patch. Thanks to the recent default by some companies, many debt mutual fund investors are becoming extremely cautious about these schemes.
As per the new Sebi norms, credit risk funds would invest 65 per cent of the total assets in corporate bonds. These open-ended schemes would invest in `below highest rated bonds.’ That is they would invest mostly in bonds rated below AAA.
