Most financial plans have a child-related goal in them. The most common child-specific goal is to fund kid's higher education and/or marriage. This explains why some mutual fund houses provide child specific mutual fund plans. But do these plans actually make sense?
Mutual fund advisors do not seem to be much in favour of these schemes to plan for your child’s goals. They say investors must understand that it is only a nomenclature.
