Even as the number of women fund managers is gradually rising in India, they still represent a mere 8% of the total fund managers across fund houses in the country, a study by Morningstar showed on Wednesday.
A total of 345 fund managers manage around Rs 22.2 lakh crores of assets, excluding exchange-traded funds, fund of funds and infra debt. Of these only 29 are women. The number though is higher than 24 in 2018, and 18 in 2017.
