It is absolutely malicious that when you day that mutual funds saw a blistering growth in AUM which was due to transparency and when something goes wrong like FMPs losing money or closed ended fund investors lose money the Coconut is broken on distributors head and distributors are made scapegoats. So whatever good happens the credit goes to AMCs and whatever bad happens it is the work of a distributor. Basically they just want to remove distributors and since they can't say it directly so through SEBI( they are hands in gloves with AMCs) they are bringing all these regulations. Even after so many defaults and so many I besties losing so much money SEBI says that AMCs should adopt a process where these things will not happen in future which means that SEBI has absolved all the AMCs for all the loss to investors and will also won't punish anyone even if it was done purposely to siphon off money from investors and won't even inquire into how they gave such huge sums to these groups. This means that SEBI is not responsible for safeguarding the investors money but only works for maximising AMCs profits. I caution all the investors before in eating in mutual funds that the regulator is not responsible for any action taken by AMCs and will not stop them from investing in high risk papers even if it means a loss to investors. So they should not invest in mutual funds at all.
