The issue about multi-cap funds is that from the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) perspective, if a fund is multi cap, it should be true to label and there should be somewhat equitable allocation to the large, mid and small-cap stocks. From the fund managers’ and investors’ perspective, the market cap in India, which is a reflection of the value the market is assigning, is skewed towards large-cap stocks.
