Mutual Fund assets to touch Rs 50 lakh crore by 2025: Crisil

Investor interest in the mutual funds segment has been changing lately because of market volatility, and the average assets under management stood at around Rs 30 lakh crore as of November 2020.

Ratings agency Crisil on December 17 said the mutual fund industry will post double-digit growth for the next few years and its assets under management will cross Rs 50 lakh crore by 2025. Crisil's research wing said the increase in inflows is bound to be fuelled by investments into equities as against other asset classes. Investor interest in the mutual funds segment has been changing lately because of market volatility, and the average assets under management stood at around Rs 30 lakh crore as of November 2020.

Whether MF will reach 40 lakh crore or 60 lakh crore only God Knows. It has become a fashion for some experts to talk just to catch attention. Why someone should believe these astrologers until unless they present the basis on which they have calculated. In my last 31 year in the industry I have seen people making all sorts of prediction which is more of their wish list. Many of such prophecies becoming wrong.
