    Debt mutual funds witness heavy outflows on lower returns, uncertain rate outlook

    Debt mutual funds saw a sharp dip in their AUM in February. A net outflow of Rs 8,274.29 was seen from all the debt fund categories combined. The outflow number stood at Rs 5087 crore in January. Except for liquid and overnight funds, all the other debt categories saw large outflows. Market analysts and fund managers attribute this fall to the uncertainty in rate cycle and the future course of yields.
