Gold ETFs likely to become less attractive after government removes tax benefits

Government’s decision to remove tax benefits from debt mutual funds, gold funds and gold ETFs has stolen much sheen from these products and they will now be less attractive in comparison to other asset classes, including physical gold and Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs).
