86% mid cap funds fail to beat their benchmarks in 5 years

Mid cap category is struggling to beat its benchmarks in one, three, and five-year horizons, an analysis of returns by ETMutualFunds showed. Most mid cap failed to beat their respective benchmarks in all three horizons. We considered the daily rolling returns for the study.
