    Will mis-selling of insurance stop after consumer affairs ministry’s proposal? Unlikely, say experts

    The insurance space is abuzz with the consumer affairs ministry’s proposal to curb the mis-selling menace. However, as it stands, the proposal to ensure video-recording of all sales pitches made by intermediaries seems impractical, said industry experts Moneycontrol reached out to. "Recording all the sales pitches and calls could be difficult. The sale may be concluded over multiple meetings and some may involve lengthy conversations,” said Subhash Khuntia, former chairman, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
