More Indian women, including those from remote areas, are turning to the mutual funds market to boost their investment and making independent investment decisions, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on September 4, while also underlining the growing importance of the fairer sex in the corporate world.
“According to Association of Mutual Fund of India, share of women in mutual funds has shot up to 21% in 2023,” Sitharaman said during her keynote address at the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) event titled ‘Women Rising: The Unseen Barriers in Power, Politics & Otherwise’ in Chennai.
