CY25 could mark strong IT demand rebound, says Baroda BNP Paribas MF's Shiv Chanani

    Source: Moneycontrol Sep 21, 2024

Shiv Chanani, of Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund, believes the IT sector is at a pivotal point, with expectations for a demand rebound in CY25 as current concerns begin to fade.

He suggests that a decline in the US Federal funds rate could boost both the consumption and financial segments.

Chanani, a CFA charterholder with 24 years of asset management experience, also holds a positive outlook on the consumption theme, both in the short and long term. In the near term, he anticipates that a normal monsoon and the resulting increase in farm income will serve as a catalyst for demand growth

What is your take on the US FOMC meet outcome? Do you expect the series of rate cuts from the central bank?
