Year-ender 2024: Mutual funds’ cash pile rose by Rs 70,000 crore in 2024 to Rs 1.80 lakh crore

The cash pile of mutual funds has increased by Rs 70,081 crore in 2024 from Rs 1.10 lakh crore at the start of the current calendar year to Rs 1.80 lakh in November (the last available data). Over the year, the cash allocation as a per cent of total AUM was 4.36% as of December 31, 2023. This has gone up to 4.98% in November 2024.
