A major industry body of Ahmedabad’s hospitals and nursing homes has said it would suspend cashless insurance facilities for three large private insurersfrom April 2.

Why have the hospitals taken this position, and how could patients be impacted as a result?

What exactly has happened, and why?

The Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes’ Association (AHNA) announced on March 11 that cashless transactions with customers of Star Health & Allied Insurance Co Ltd, Care Health Insurance, and Tata AIG Health Insurance will be suspended indefinitely from April 2 onward.
