State government officials, employees will be entitled for Accident Insurance policy, said finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
Mungantiwar said that the number of officials who die in motor accidents, or who become permanently handicapped /disabled were on the rise and so this decision was taken. The cover will be provided to them at a minimum premium rate. This scheme will be applicable to all govt. officials and employees in the state. This scheme will be effective from 1st April 2016. Death due to accidents, and physical handicap caused by accidents will be covered, and will get 100 per cent benefit under this scheme.
The insurance cover under this scheme for Group - A, Group -B, Group -C and Group -D, will be Rs 10 lakh and the yearly fee will be Rs 300 plus service tax applicable. The insurance fee will be deducted from the salaries of the govt officials/employees.
