The percentage of equity asset of India's mutual funds with holding period of more than two years in markets is witnessing a decline in the current financial year.
During a period when India's key stock indices lost nearly 15 per cent in the first three quarters of 2015-16, there is a fall of 7 per cent in equity assets which stayed invested for more than two years.
CVR Rajendran, CEO of Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi), says, "My perception investors tend to move out when markets are higher. Even in balanced funds they tend to move to from equity to debt segment. I believe, this may have led to a dip."
