The central government is considering an initial public offer or a strategic divestment to dilute its stake in state-run general insurance companies.
According to industry sources, at least two of the four public sector general insurance companies (New India Assurance Company, National Insurance Company, United India Insurance Company and Oriental Insurance Company) could be considered for a divestment this fiscal.
