Mutual fund distributors are recommending multi-cap and balanced funds to retail investors to tide over high volatility in financial markets. These funds, they point out can provide reasonably good returns for retail investors in the long-term.
In the past five years, multi-cap and balanced funds have given 16-19.5% and 14-16% returns (CAGR) respectively compared with 7.2% gain in the benchmark Nifty 50 index.
