Mutual Funds in India have seen tremendous growth over the past few decades. But still, their penetration levels and their share within the financial assets kitty owned by the Indian households (and even firms, for that matter) remain low.
With only around 4-5 per cent of the Indian households having invested in mutual funds, the potential to expand remains large. The comparison is especially numbing when we see it in contrast with other markets such as the US.
