    Dejargoned: Basic savings bank deposit account

    A basic savings bank deposit account does not require a minimum balance. Banks cannot deny this account to customers on the basis of economic, age or income status. This is a normal banking service, available to all. A normal savings bank account can be converted into a basic savings account. But to do this, the customer has to give consent in writing. The normal interest rates of savings bank deposit are applicable to these accounts too. However, such accounts come with several restrictions.
