The proportionate market share held by equity-oriented schemes came down to 31.1 per cent in November 2016 from 32.3 per cent in November 2015. The proportionate share of debt-oriented schemes rose to 46.3 per cent of the industry assets this year from 44.6 per cent in November 2015.
The data by Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) shows that 59 per cent of individual investor assets are held in equity-oriented schemes, whereas 89 per cent of institution assets are held in liquid/money market schemes and debt-oriented schemes.
