    Can you draw a regular income from balanced schemes?

    Some financial planners are recommending a handful of equity-oriented balanced schemes with regular dividend paying record to investors looking for a regular income from their investments. These advisors have short-listed the schemes based on their dividend paying history since 2016. According to these planners, the strategy is recommended to retired folks looking for a regular monthly income from their investments. 

    Six equity-oriented balanced schemes -- Canara Robeco Balance Fund, HDFC Prudence Fund, DSP BlackRock Balanced Fund, Sundaram Balanced Fund, ICICI Prudential Balanced Fund and Tata Balanced Fund -- have been declaring dividends every month since January 2016.
