Max Bupa, Hospital Lobby Group spar over generic drug prescription

New Delhi-based Max Bupa Health Insurance has sent notice to hospitals asking them to prescribe medicines only with their generic names to reimburse claims. Max sought that hospitals comply with “immediate” effect, citing the Medical Council of India guidelines that states every physician should prescribe drugs with their generic names legibly, preferably in capital letters.
