    Tata Balanced Fund has a dedicated fan following. Many investors swear by its consistency and dividend paying track record. However, the short-term underperformance of the scheme, especially in relation to some of its peers, is causing concern among its investors. Though the fund managed to recover some of the lost ground, some investors are still concerned about its future prospects. ET.com Mutual Funds spoke to Pradeep Gokhale , fund manager, Tata Balanced Fund, to find out the reasons behind the short-term underperformance. Edited interview.

    Tata Balanced Fund has been lagging its peers and the benchmark in the last one year. What is the reason behind the poor performance?

    Tata Balanced Fund has predominantly followed the Growth at Reasonable Price (GARP) strategy for its portfolio construction.
