Is the current market valuation justified in the context of corporate earnings growth?
The headline valuations may not lead you to the right conclusions. Towards the end of last year, when the first set of estimates was coming in for 2017-18, expectations were that this would be a good year, especially on the back of a good monsoon. It was the first time that both urban and rural dynamics were looking positive simultaneously. It looked like both engines were going to fire at the same time.
