IRDAI has inducted two new members in the Insurance Advisory Committee (IAC). As a result, the total number of members in this committee now stands at 25.
In a circular issued by the insurance regulator issued recently, IRDAI has said that it has appointed secretaries of both the Life Insurance Council and General Insurance Council in IAC with the effect from May 2016.
Currently, V Manickam and R Chandrasekaran are the secretaries of Life Insurance Council and General Insurance Council respectively.
IRDAI’s Insurance Advisory Committee was constituted in 2000 under the chairmanship of C Rangachary. The committee was reconstituted in 2016. The committee advises IRDAI on development, disclosures and regulatory aspects of the insurance industry.
