    The fourth annual Financial Freedom Fraternity (FFF) event recently held at J W Marriott Sahar, Mumbai recognized 48 names for their exceptional performance and contribution to the MF industry. These included MFDs as well as MFD associations.  

    Talking about these awards, Kanak Jain of SSL Academy said, “We have made sincere efforts to applaud distributors who flawlessly demonstrate the event theme i.e Eliminate, Automate & Delegate by eliminating non-productive activities, integrating technology efficiently and delegating responsibilities.”

    “We also felicitated MFD achievers who crossed the significant milestones of Rs 250 crore, Rs 500 crore and Rs 1,000 crore of AUM. Additionally, we recognised MFD associations who always contribute to the betterment of the MFD fraternity”, added Kanak.

    Category - Achievers Award 2023

    These awards celebrated MFD achievers across three board categories - Over Rs 1,000 crore AUM, over Rs 500 crore AUM and over Rs 250 crore AUM.

    Category - Volatility Coach Influencers Award 2023

    These awards applauded MFDs demonstrating the event theme. Here are the 10 MFDs who made it to the winner’s list.

    Anita and Datta Kanbargi from Belgaum currently manage an AUM of around Rs 350 crore and are known to visit different countries every year. They have created a sound business model that not only generates enough revenues for such leisure trips but is also strong enough to run in their physical absence.

    Kolkata MFD Arabinda Kundu reached out to 150 insurance agents and spoke to them about the huge business potential in mutual funds. Later, he partnered with them and on boarded them as sub-distributors. Today, he along with his distribution network manages an AUM of Rs 170 crore.  

    Bhanu Pratap Jain has been distributing mutual funds with his father in the Assamese town of Tinsukia. Notably they manage assets of more than Rs 100 crore and their business will complete five decades of existence soon. Bhanu focuses on third generation investors and talks to them about the importance of mutual funds.   

    Lallit Tripathi from Ranchi has created an application named ‘Vedanta’ to simplify investing for rural investors. These investors can invest a modest amount of a few hundreds to create a corpus over the long term. Over time, the MFD has built an asset base of over Rs. 100 crore.

    Despite being visually impaired, Kolkata MFD Piyush Rakhecha leveraged technology to build a sound distribution business model. He successfully overcame his 90% blindness to create a thriving business of close to Rs 50 crore.   

    Mumbaikar Prasad Shetty, is currently suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) disease which affected his motor skills and made him wheelchair-bound. However, this in no way affected his zeal and he went on to create a distribution business of Rs 130 crore.

    Sadashiv Phene from Mumbai features in the list of top distributors. He is known to be a contrarian who takes calls opposing the ongoing trends. Currently, he manages AUM of over Rs.1000 crore in mutual funds.

    Sanjay Tiwari of Bilaspur is known to help investors in times of personal as well as financial need. In the past, Sanjay has travelled inter-city to be by an investor’s side who had lost his loved one. The MFD extends unconditional emotional support along with expert financial guidance to investors. Today, he manages assets of Rs 80 crore.

    Dehradun MFD Shasank Jain has on boarded multiple schools as well as private companies as his clients. Additionally, majority of the teachers and employees working there are also his clients. He has built an asset base of Rs 550 crore.

    Punekar sub-distributor Suraj Jagdale is an avid learner and constantly upskills and upgrades himself through frequent learning programs. Additionally, he attends various educational events to stay abreast of the current happenings. Through such constant learning, he has built an asset base of around Rs 125 crore.

    Category - Community Developer MFD Associations

    These awards celebrate the constant support that the associations extend to MFDs.
