Pan India’s MFD association - All Mutual Fund Distributors Welfare Association (AMDwA) held its annual knowledge summit on Feb 24, 2024 in Delhi. Themed ‘Udhbav – The Evolution’, the event was attended by over 400 MFDs and representatives of more than 25 fund houses.
The day long summit had over 10 sessions and 2 panel discussions which gave powerful insights that can help MFDs grow their business.
The session started with welcome note of Ajay Sharma, President, AMDwA.
BM Kini, Dy, CEO AMFI spoke on AMFI’s perspective of MFDs where he emphasized the importance of MFDs in the lives of investors and how AMFI plans to make the MF system more efficient.
Ganesh Mohan, MD, CEO Bajaj Finserv MF spoke on evolution of Indian economy. Moderated by Nishant Patnaik, Associate Editor, Cafemutual, Kunaal Khanna, Head PMS, SBI MF, Lovey Mishra, Former President, AMDwA, Nischay Nath, CEO, Tap Invest and Sudarshan Lodha, Co- Founder, CEO, Strata shared their insights in the panel discussion on ‘Options beyond Mutual funds’.
Other topics covered in the event included what goes behind selecting a stock, global economy and future prospects where MF officials shared their perspectives on the latest trends and workings of the MF industry.
Further, Air Marshal Harish Masand, Vir Chakra, Vayu Sena Medal shared his story to motivate others. Among other speakers were Alpa Shah, Author, Motivator & Trainer, Anish Tawakley, Deputy CIO, Equity ICICI Prudential MF, Harsh Upadhyay, CIO, Equity, Kotak MF, Rahul Baijal, Sr Fund Manager, HDFC MF.
Other panelists included Ajay Kumar Gupta, CBO, Trust MF, Anamika Mattey, Head Virtual Business & Distributor Training, Nippon MF, Mohit Sharma, Director & Co- Head Retail, Franklin MF and Rohit Matoo, National Head, Retail Sales, Axis MF who discussed various AMC initiatives for MFDs and investors.
Lastly, 5 MFDs were given the MFD Samman Award for their exemplary work for MFD community. The winners were Ashish Goel, Gautam Karmakar, Lovey Mehra, Rajesh Kumar Sodhani and Sanjay Bhan.
