The Sanjeevani awards are meant to showcase how mutual fund distributors and investment advisors go above and beyond in changing lives of people across India.
As the Sanjeevani Awards are set to return at Cafemutual Ideas Fest 2025 (CIF25) on March 5, at Sahara Star, Mumbai, let’s look at some of the heartwarming stories that were shared last year by the award recipients.
From over 200 entries in 2024, ten outstanding professionals were recognized for going beyond traditional financial advice, becoming true examples of Sanjeevani (The sacred herb that brought life to Lakshmana in the Ramayana).
Among the 2024 stories was that of S Saravanan from Purplepond, Chennai. He not only helped secure the future of a young widow and her 2-year-old daughter after an industrial accident but also guided the family towards financial independence. Another remarkable story came from Rashmi and Ankush Thukral of Thukral Capital, who helped a COVID-affected family overcome a massive Rs 13 crore business debt and achieve a business turnover of Rs 44 crore a year eventually.
The awards also recognize instances of MFDs helping bring unorganized workers into the mutual fund fold and MFDs helping women gain financially knowledge and independence. For instance, Degree 212 Investment Services found an innovative way to introduce mutual funds to drivers and domestic help through their existing clients while Shruti Agarwal and Ankita Singhania of CAGR Funds focused on making women financially self-reliant.
