    Let’s give it up for ‘Sanjeevani MFD Awards’ Winners!

    Meet the winners of ‘Sanjeevani MFD Awards’ who went all way out to help others during testing times.

    SBI Mutual Fund and Cafemutual announced the much-awaited winner list of the ‘Sanjeevani MFD Awards’ at Cafemutual Ideas Fest 2022 (CIF 22). The awards were a humble gesture to celebrate the noble acts of selflessness by MFDs/RIAs/MFD associations who helped their clients/members during testing pandemic times.

    Sandeep Sharma, EVP & National Head-Retail Sales and Distribution Alliances, SBI MF and Prem Khatri, Founder & CEO, Cafemutual felicitated the winners with a Letter of Appreciation and a golden trophy.    

    The attendees cheered as the names were announced and a roar of applause filled the room. Every winner narrated his/her story which left the attendees emotional and inspired.

    Here are the five gems of the MF industry who prioritise humanity above all. 

    • Amrita Mishra, Darbhanga, Bihar

    Amrita was disheartened to know the untimely demise of one of her clients. What caused here even more pain was the fact that he was the sole earning member and was survived by a wife and two minor daughters.

    The deceased only had Rs. 50,000 in mutual funds and Rs. 2 lakh in life insurance policy. Amrita got in touch with the company where he used to work and helped his family get compensation of Rs. 5 lakh. Additionally, she also ensured that the client’s wife receives monthly pension from Government of India.

    • Ajitabh Goswami and Gajendra Kumar Roy of We Reach We Help of Shillong, Meghalaya.

    Ajitabh along with 8 like-minded MFDs - Anjan Das, Dinesh Powdel, Gajendra Roy, Nilakantha Sharma, Rajat Das, Shyamal Sen, Sudeep Mizar and Tapash Gupta formed ‘We Reach We Help’, a community to help people affected by covid-19. Formed in 2020, it is a self-funded community taking various initiatives like distribution of masks, food packets, sanitizers, medicines, etc. for not only clients but also for others.

    Additionally, the group of MFDs has also helped not so tech savvy people to book vaccination slots and arranged travel logistics for differently abled and aged population. The team has also recharged mobile phones of needy families to ensure that their children do not miss out on online education. The team also looks after the well-being of stray dogs by serving them food.  

    • Dhanesh Advani from Nashik, Maharashtra

    Dhanesh took care of a client’s father who unfortunately lost his life due to covid. It all started when he came to know about his client’s father who suffered from the coronavirus and was not well.

    Dhanesh immediately rushed to his father’s house and helped him get admitted to hospital. Unfortunately, his client’s father lost his life after a few days and there was no one from family side to perform the last rites. Dhanesh not only helped in clearing the discharge formalities but also conducted the final rites. Besides, he also helped the family obtain the death certificate and other important papers.

    • Prakash Sheth, Mumbai

    Prakash helped his client get an insurance claim of Rs.15 lakh as against the coverage of Rs.5 lakh.

    Last year, his client was hospitalised due to covid. The client was a barber by profession and had a modest background. Prakash was in constant touch with his client through his brother to keep a close watch on his progress. This client was admitted to the hospital for almost two months resulting in Rs. 15 lakh of expenses. While the client bought an insurance with sum assured of Rs. 5 lakh, Prakash helped him settle the entire hospital bill of Rs. 15 lakh, and that too cashless.

    • Shalab Gupta Bibhab, Bibhab Capital, Agra, Uttar Pradesh

    Shalabh Gupta has installed a mammography machine in government hospital that can detect breast cancer. In addition, he has been supporting an NGO that takes care of special children. He has also been funding education of two underprivileged children.

    Recently, Shalabh travelled all the way from Agra to Bhopal to help a deceased client’s family deal with the challenging situation. In fact, he helped the family perform last rites and left three of his employees to take care of day-to-day work till the final rituals.
