After giving stellar performances in films such as Fukrey, Bareilly Ki Barfi and Newton and very recently in Netflix series Sacred Games, he is all set to entertain us with his upcoming film Stree.
Recently, Bihar Government’s Mumbai Chapter – Bihar Foundation felicitated National Award winning actor Pankaj Tripathi for his stellar performance in the world of Cinema.
In a candid conversation with Cafemutual, he shares his life journey and approach towards money and investments.
‘There was strong desire to act’
When you are an artist, you want to play different roles; it was the same with me. That desire and thirst to express myself got me in cinema. If you love something and take that up as a career, there is nothing better than that. And, my journey is like a dream come true.
‘Stree is releasing on August 31’
Next film I am working on is Stree. The trailer is out already and the film will be releasing on August 31. It is an entertaining horror-comedy and I have a very good role in it.
‘I have a financial advisor who is planning my retirement’
When I was struggling, my wife was the bread-winner of the family. Now, I have taken over. But, life of an artist is really unpredictable. You have a job today and you might not have it tomorrow. Therefore, it is important to take professional financial advice to manage things. I have a financial advisor who is planning my retirement. Many actors have died in acute poverty. However, I do not want my life to end that way.
‘I invest in mutual funds’
I invest in fixed deposits and mutual funds. Also, I am planning to build a second home in a hill station to spend my retirement days.
‘You should have mediclaim and insurance policy’
World is an unpredictable place; you never know how your life will be tomorrow. Therefore, you should be always ready with mediclaim and life insurance policy, else you will have a lot of trouble.
‘Artists are never good with finances’
I do not understand where I should invest. My financial advisor suggests good mutual funds and I do as he says. Artists are never good with finances. Therefore, artists should always consult a financial advisor.
