You claim that the portal would help distributors earn trust and respect amongst the millions of investors. How would you help them build trust?
We aim to solve the biggest and most common challenge faced by both the industry and the investment population at large – the total lack of the ‘trust’ factor.
Quantum Cosmos will provide distributors with expert research and training material, insights on best performing funds that covers schemes of other fund houses as well, special financial planning tools and lots more. This portal will surely enhance mutual fund advisory skills and will facilitate investors to make the correct financial decisions.
More importantly, we have designed a curriculum for advisors titled Certified Financial Guardian (CFG) through which they can learn nuances of ethical selling. For instance, the course would suggest ideal asset allocation choice for an investor based on his risk appetite and age.
In my view, this portal would equip IFAs with requisite knowledge and give insights on ethical selling to establish trust among clients.
What are the key feature of the portal?
- Distributors can leverage a depository of research resources on schemes across fund houses and categories
- Research reports on current fund performance and economic scenario
- Tools and calculators to analyze the risk capacity of investors
- Training material to help step up the financial knowledge
- Boost online visibility and build goodwill by creating a unique detailed profile on the portal
- Interactive infographics and GIFs to share, educate and build engagement with investors
However, the most important feature is client acquisition for advisors. We will list Certified Financial Guardian (CFG) advisors on our portal and promote them through social media and advertisement campaigns. Investors can visit our portal and choose advisors of their choice based on their needs and vicinity.
Going forward, we plan to offer execution facilities across fund houses.
How it is different from the existing platforms of other fund houses?
Currently, most platforms offer transaction and execution services to IFAs, which they can do from independent platforms such as NSE, BSE and MF Utility.
However, advisors who want to hone their skills through knowledge and research will have to spend exorbitantly. There are platforms which charges over Rs.50,000 a year to provide such services.
Hence, we have an edge over other platforms as we provide a gold mine of research reports on various schemes free of cost.
Many IFAs are not comfortable sharing client data on such a platform. How are you going about promoting your platform among these IFAs?
We will not ask IFAs to put their clients’ data on the portal. If they wish to do transaction going forward, these details will be with third party service provider having no conflict of interest.
Tell me something about the ‘Certified Financial Guardian’ (CFG).
Distributors can only use this portal only if they complete a certification program called the CFG which aims at honing the financial knowledge of these wealth creators. Post successful completion of the program, the distributors will be awarded a certification and will have access to all the benefits of this distributor platform. As I have mentioned that the curriculum is designed in such a way that will help advisors understand financial planning process and nuances of ethical selling.
What are the other distributor engagement programs that you plan to carry out this year?
Recently, we have set up an office space for IFAs called ‘Q Tube Cafe’ where IFAs can conduct business, hold client meetings and organize IAPs. To start with, we have opened first office working space at Link Road, Bandra West, Mumbai. Since Bandra is located in middle of the city, we have opted for this location.
This office space has independent workstations equipped with computers and laptops, a fully-furnished meeting space, well equipped conference rooms, wifi and pantry. IFAs desirous of availing this office space can book it by visiting our website.
We have also started offering web-based eKYC service to IFAs to onboard new clients.
