An analysis of search queries on Google trends for fund houses shows that SBI MF, HDFC MF and Reliance MF had the highest number of searches last year. In fact, SBI MF was the most searched across fund houses. Data also shows that interest in HDFC MF peaked during its IPO period.
AMFI data shows that SBI MF, HDFC MF and Reliance MF account for 33% of industry’s AUM as on September 2018.
Other fund houses, which had high number of search on Google were Aditya Birla Sun Life MF, Axis MF, L&T MF and ICICI MF. One reason for this could be that these are large fund houses with a huge investor base. These investors may be accessing the mutual fund’s website to transact or view scheme information.
These results could vary marginally depending on keywords.
In percentage terms, Invesco MF, PPFAS MF, L&T MF, Essel MF and BOI MF have witnessed a surge in their search history on Google in 2018.
Keywords, which saw maximum searches on Google last year were best funds to invest in, mutual fund sahi hai, SIP, fund house login, and small cap funds.
