You can now view the 1 year, 3 year, 5 year, 10 year and since inception performance of all mutual fund schemes on daily basis on AMFI website.
Fund houses have been publishing the CAGR returns of both direct and regular plans. The performance is calculated using previous day's NAV.
In case of overnight funds, liquid funds, ultra-short duration funds, low duration funds, and money market funds, the AMCs also upload 7 days, 15 days, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months on the AMFI website.
For ease of comparison, along with scheme performance, fund houses also publish the returns of corresponding Total Returns Index (TRI) benchmarks.
The site also displays other relevant data such as scheme AUM and previous day NAV of each scheme.
So far, this information was available on the AMC websites which update their scheme performance reports on monthly basis. The scheme’s AUM too is shared at a monthly frequency in their factsheet.
In line with SEBIs move on enhancing the transparency in mutual funds, the regulator asked mutual funds to upload the daily scheme performance, AUM and NAV details on AMFI website. Fund houses were given a month's time to comply with the circular.
While the daily performance data of schemes was available on multiple third party websites, having fund houses upload such data increases investor confidence in its authenticity.
Daily AUM data on the other hand was not freely available. Having easy access to AUM will help advisors track changes in the size of the scheme. It will also promote greater transparency.
