Maharashtra holds the top position in terms of new ARN and EUIN registration. The state accounts for 23% of the new ARN/EUIN registration, shows recent AMFI data on geographical spread of the new ARN holders for June 2019.
Since Maharashtra is the commercial capital of India, the state has added highest number of new ARNs and particularly EUINs, said experts.
Gujarat and West Bengal followed Maharashtra in second and third positions respectively. Both Gujarat and West Bengal have contributed 9.5% and 7.4% new distributors.
Put together the top three states account for over 40% of the new ARN and EUIN registration.
Other states contributing over 5% to new ARN and EUIN registration were Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. While Tamil Nadu accounted for 7% or 276 new ARN/EUIN holders, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana accounted for 6.6%, 5.6% and 5.15 to the new ARN/EUIN registration, respectively.
Delhi, which has the second highest assets of the MF industry, contributed only 4.9% or 195 new ARN/EUIN holders to the MF industry. Delhi was at the 9th spot in this table.
As on June-end, the MF industry has 2.10 lakh ARN/EUIN holders with 1 lakh ARN holders and 1.1 EUIN holders. Further, AMFI data shows that 40% of overall registration were from B30 towns.
