Over 30 IFAs affected in western Maharashtra floods

IFA community comes together to help advisors who are flood victims.
    Nishant Patnaik Aug 15, 2019

Advisors come together to demonstrate that ‘it is not all about money but humanity.’

At a time when western Maharashtra is reeling under a natural calamity, members of Western Maharashtra Rural IFA Association (WMRIA) have joined hands to help advisors  affected by floods.

The Sangli and Kolhapur Chapters of WMRIA have prepared a list of affected IFAs who have suffered loss due to severe floods. While 22 IFAs and their employees have lost their homes or offices in Sangli, 10 were affected in Kolhapur. Overall, over 30 IFAs have been affected in the western Maharashtra floods.

Prasannaraj Pandyaji, Member of WMRIA, Sangli told Cafemutual that the association has started collecting donation from members and AMC officials. He said that a few IFAs have suffered loss due to waterlogging in their offices. As a result, they lost their computers, electronics, furniture, important documents and stationery. Though the association cannot compensate IFAs for the entire loss, the association plans to provide new computers and stationary to the affected IFAs.

Another member of the association Anil Kumar Wale told Cafemutual that he has not had access to phone, electricity and even essential food articles like milk for a week. He said that if AMCs could pay advance commission to the affected IFAs, it would help them deal with the situation.

A member of Kolhapur Chapter of WMRIA, Prasad Dharmadhikari told Cafemutual that the association will also organise a blood donation camp on August 15 to help flood victims.

Swanand Kulkarni, Member of WMRIA said that IFAs and AMC officials can donate money via paytm @9422615619 or send money to Kirti Swanand Kulakrni at Axis Bank Miraj having account no. 769010100003339 and IFSC UTIB0000769 to help affected IFAs of Sangli and Miraj.

Cafemutual salutes the spirit of these IFAs and urges all IFAs and AMCs to come forward and help the distressed IFAs.

why don't they take flood insurance? or office insurance which covers such risk?
Narendar Kumar · 4 years ago
There is Office Insurance by various General insurance. Why don't IFA take such policy which is just at fraction of actual cost and help in recovering loss.
