The government has launched a service to resolve grievances related to GST called GST Seva Kendra.
Under this facility, the government has started a toll free number, launched a web portal and set up a helpdesk physically at various location to help taxpayers resolve their GST related complaints.
With this, many distributors and agents can lodge their GST related compliant easily.
Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs announced this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha recently.
The Minister further said that Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has a helpdesk to redress taxpayer grievances regarding the GST portal, which can be accessed through telephonic calls or through Self-Help Grievance Redressal portal (GRP) https://selfservice.gstsystem.in.
Currently, distributors earning less than Rs.20 lakh who do not have GST registration do not pay GST under reverse charge mechanism. Also, distributors who earn up to Rs.50 lakh and do not have any business with AMCs outside Maharashtra are eligible to pay lower GST rates of 6% under Composition Scheme.
For all other distributors with GST registration, AMCs continue to follow forward charge mechanism, i.e., AMCs will pay the gross commission to them. These distributors can avail of the benefits of input credit.
