What went in and went out of MF portfolios in Dec

To understand how MFs are dealing with the inflows in this volatile market, look at what they bought and sold in December.
    Team Cafemutual Jan 20, 2020

Trade in Indian equity markets was lackluster in the month of December given the holiday season, which led to low participation. Sectors that attracted investors attention included metals as US and China were on verge of signing a trade deal.

Cement companies managed to be in focus due to seasonal pick up in construction activity and expectation of high infrastructural projects by government.

Let us look at the top mutual fund picks and exits in December 2019.

    Large Cap

On a consolidated basis in large cap stocks, HDFC AMC, Ambuja Cements, DLF, Maruti Suzuki India and Nestle India witnessed the highest buying during December, shows an ICICI Direct report.

Meanwhile, L&T Finance Holdings, Indiabulls Housing Finance, L&T Infotech, SBI Life Insurance Company and YES Bank saw the highest selling.
