SEBI has launched a mobile app through which investors can lodge their complaints in SEBI Complaints Redress System (SCORES).
SCORES is a platform for investors to lodge their complaints related to securities market entities - listed companies, SEBI registered intermediaries such as AMCs, RIAs, PMS companies and AIFs and SEBI recognized market infrastructure institutions. Within 30 days of receiving the complaints, entities who receive complaints have to file an ‘Action Taken Report’ with SEBI.
The app has all the features of SCORES which is presently available on the SEBI website. For each grievance, investors will get an acknowledgement via SMS and e-mail on their registered mobile numbers and e-mail ID respectively. Investors can track the status of their complaint redressal and key in reminders for their pending grievances.
Moreover, for better understanding of the complaint handling process, investors can also access tools like FAQs. For any clarifications or help, investors can call SEBI through toll free helpline number for app users.
Launching the mobile app, “SEBI SCORES”, Ajay Tyagi, Chairman, SEBI said, “SCORES mobile app will make it easier for investors to lodge their grievances with SEBI, as they can now access SCORES at their convenience of a smart phone. The mobile app, I am sure, will encourage investors to lodge their complaints on SCORES rather than sending letters to SEBI in physical mode.”
Since its launch in June 2011, SEBI on an average has received about 40,000 complaints every year. So far, 3.57 lakh complaints has been resolved using SCORES platform.
