An analysis of quarterly average AUM of all fund houses shows that HDFC MF, ICICI Prudential MF and SBI MF were the top three fund houses in terms of debt AAUM as on March 2020.
Debt AAUM includes liquid funds, gilt Funds, and other debt oriented schemes.
HDFC MF’s debt AAUM in Jan-Mar stood at Rs 2 lakh crore, ICICI Prudential MF’s at Rs 1.87 lakh crore and SBI MF’s at Rs 1.74 lakh crore. Next in this list is Aditya Birla Sun Life MF with debt AAUM of Rs 1.57 lakh crore followed by Nippon India MF with Rs 88,047 crore of debt AAUM.
Apart from these five fund houses, IDFC, Axis, UTI, Franklin Templeton and DSP were among the top 10 MFs based on AAUM of debt schemes.
Overall, there were 15 fund houses whose debt AAUM is more than Rs. 10,000 crore. The total debt AAUM of the MF industry stood at Rs 12.6 lakh crore.
Quarterly AAUM data of Kotak MF and HSBC MF was not available till time of publishing this article.
